This is a really good and really recent article about the current state of immigration between Cuba and US. To quote the article, "Cuba said its deputy minister of foreign affairs, Dagoberto Rodriguez, met with Craig Kelly, a deputy assistant secretary of state for Western Hemisphere affairs and the highest ranking American official to come to the island in years".
There was also conversation later in the article about the exchange of prisoners convicted of spying. Cuba is holding an American convicted of spying, and Cuba supposedly will give him back in exchange for five Cubans convicted of spying that have been held by the US since the 1960's.
